About the Course
This 8-week course will be structured around well-established curriculum put forth by Prepare-Enrich. At the end of 8 weeks (for couples who have engaged in a total of 8-hours of group counseling), couples will be awarding a premarital counseling certificate, recognized by the state of Texas. With this certificate couples who marry in the state of Texas may be eligible for certain benefits such as free or reduced fees on their marriage license and waived 72-hour wait period which allows couples to apply and receive their marriage license on the same day.
Course content will cover most of the following topics:
Communication: Exploring how partners express themselves, listen to each other, and build understanding.
Conflict Resolution: Understanding natural tendencies in conflict situations and learning strategies for healthier communication.
Financial Management: Examining financial habits, goals, and potential areas of conflict.
Sexual Intimacy: Discussing expectations, satisfaction levels, and communication about intimacy.
Family and Friends: Exploring the influence of family dynamics, relationships with friends, and the impact on the couple's relationship.
Spiritual Beliefs: Considering how religious or spiritual beliefs impact the relationship.
Personal Values and Styles: Understanding individual values, habits, and how they interact within the relationship.
